Not many choices of rear shocks are available for
L-bodies. The next cheapest thing to Koni's as well as the next best is
the KYB GR-2's. These have medium gas pressure and are about as stiff as
a Koni on soft. My rear shocks were pretty much worn out when I got the
KYB's. The install is easy and no spring compressor is required. Just remember
to prop up the rear axle with something when you take the shocks off so
that it doesn't pull down on the rear brake lines. The ride improvement
was great, as you can see one of the old shocks was blown. I thought that
the rear SC springs weren't very hard but in reality it was just that I
had no shock absorbtion left. Check out the pics.
